An exciting new class by Venus Kwan, who is taking inspiration from the trendy confection - the Dubai Chocolate Bar, to create a beautiful and delicious cake. Comprised of moist chocolate cake layers, chocolate cream cheese frosting, chocolate glaze, and the highlight of this cake, the pistachio kataifi - shredded strands of phyllo dough for that extra texture. Paying homage to the original confection, the cake will be decorated with homemade chocolate bars splashed with bright colours of chocolate confetti.
In this class, students will:
- Receive a recipe on how to bake moist chocolate cake layers using 70% dark chocolate (cake layers will be baked for students)
- Make a versatile chocolate cream cheese frosting
- Prepare a delicious pistachio kataifi filling
- Assemble cake layers and fillings
- Learn how to make a chocolate glaze (by demo)
- Practice chocolate graffiti decoration techniques
You will take home a six inch cake with three layers of chocolate sponge cake.
